says Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev who is the visionary behind all Isha Foundation projects.
A delegate to the United Nations Millennium Peace Summit and a member of the Alliance for New Humanity, Sadhguru works tirelessly with preeminent leaders of the world to foster peace and harmony. His humanitarian efforts to rejuvenate rural India and his rehabilitation projects for prisoners in India and abroad are internationally acclaimed. He is the source of strength and inspiration for thousands of volunteers involved in these project.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev met and apprised the President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam, of "Action for Rural Rejuvenation" on June 15th, 2004. Shri. D. R. Kaarthikeyan, former director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI – India), and former director general, National Human Rights Commission, who has been associated with the project since its inception, introduced the project and shared with the President the transformation it has brought about in the rural areas.
Showing keen interest in the project, President Kalam, a great philanthropist himself, lauded the efforts of the thousands of selfless volunteers of the Isha Foundation who have chosen to offer their service in the rural areas. Dr. Kalam stressed upon the need to strengthen and revitalize the country’s age-old cultural virtues. Other dignitaries attending the event, including Shri. Ravi Venkatesan, Chairman, Microsoft India, also acclaimed and voiced their support for Action for Rural Rejuvenation.
We invite the support and participation of all individuals, groups and organizations in this unique endeavor, which is destined to bring a permanent transformation in the lives of people who are trapped in hopeless economic and social situations.
